Dow Jones Industrial Average – The stock market indicator called also the Industrial Average, was created on the 26th of May 1896, by Charles Dow. Mr Dow compiled this index to asses the performance of the industrial sector, within the economy of the United States of America.The Dow Jones shows how a selected group of big and publicly owned companies have been traded during the standard trading period in the stock market.
The Dow 30 is the most cited and also the most widely recognized stock market index. That is why also on-line, on the internet many websites can be found with information on the Industrial Average. What follows is a short list of these information sources.
