Industrial Accident - If you need to do a job, make sure you can do it safely, no matter what!
Industrial Accident
Industrial Accident – These are accidents that happen on an industrial scale, involving many people, thus victimizing a lot of them. They often have different causes, like technical failure, but some times also, sad to say, incompetence and negligence are involved. Prevention of this kind of accidents needs to be the path that we should walk on. It always should be safety first. “Nothing is so urgent, that it can not be done safely.” In other words, when we need to do a job, always make sure that you know the risk you are taking, and make sure that you do it safely. So take your time, and do not endanger yourself and others. An overview on these kind of events can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_disasters .
I want to add a personal note here. When I was writing this article, I had to stop, since the next item, the Bhopal accident, will haunt me for the rest of my days. This is why: I learned about it in the evening news here in Belgium, when the accident happened. At the time, the 3rd of December 1984, I was 14 years old, and until today I am still shocked when I think about this accident, now 21st of October 2009. Not being able to breath the air that you normally breath, and not knowing what is happening. This accident has affected so many life's, until this very day. Let us hope and pray for all the victims, and also for the responsible of chemical plants around the world, that stuff like this may always be prevented and not happen again.
