Turck Ultrasonic sensors - The first fully metal stainless steel ultrasonic sensor

Turck ultrasonic sensors

Google

Turck has got a wide range of ultrasonic sensors. The newest addition is the fully metal stainless steel ultrasonic sensor M25U. It was developed by the Turck partner Banner Engineering.

The sensor is completely enclosed in a stainless steel housing, also the sonic transmitter and receiver. Which makes that this sensor has got IP68 / IP69K as protection degree. The sensors body design makes it especially suited for aseptic applications in the food and beverage industry. The housing of this sensor is resistant to chemicals and aggressive cleaning agents, and also is resistant to temperature chock.

The Turck ultrasonic barrier sensor is adjustable to 2 sensitivities: objects with a minimum diameter of 30 mm are detected up to a range of 1 meter. At higher sensitivity – for objects from 15 mm diameter - the maximum range is 40 centimetre. With a switching frequency of 100 Hz the first fully metal encapsulated ultrasonic barrier sensor can detect up to 100 objects per second.

Ultrasonic sensors use ultrasonic waves in the 140 kHz range for non-contact and wear-free detection of a large variety of different objects. It does not matter whether the object is transparent or opaque, metallic or non-metallic, or of liquid, solid or powdery consistency. Environmental conditions such as spray, wind, mist, dust, snow or rain hardly affect their function.
