What is industrial automation?

Automation or industrial automation is the industry that is occupied with automating processes in factories, on machines and in buildings. A lot of different devices, like computers, sensors, timers, relays, etcetera are being used to automate these processes. A vast contingent of developers, product managers, sales persons, product support engineers, are, on a daily bases occupied with the implementation of known or new solutions, to an existing problem. Many of these problems have already been solved. Others are given a better solution. So when we talk about industrial automation, we talk about helping to implement, or helping to find solutions to automate processes on an industrial level.
